Simply THE BEST holiday hub for you and your hound on your big Brecon adventure.
Nestled on the edge of the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park is the hidden holiday gem that is Derwen Coach House of Brynderwen Holidays.
Finding dog friendly accommodation for a holiday can sometimes be difficult when you have multiple dogs - not the case here, they're happy to welcome multiple dogs - in fact they welcome them FREE OF CHARGE!
Dog owners themselves, the very lovely and accommodating Phil and Emma have thought of literally everything when it comes to holidaying with your hound. The usual dog accessories are on hand - dog bowls, blankets etc... but this place has the ULTIMATE dog garden attached to it. Fling open the door on the porch and be safe in the knowledge your dog can happily run around to its hearts content in a HUGE lawned and securely fenced paddock.
Feed RAW? no problem, a chest freezer is at your disposal and theres a local pet supply store to purchase it from too! If you've never been to the area before, they have very kindly given you an amazing folder full of dog friendly places to visit, and local walks to get your adventure off to a flying start! There's even a dog first aid kit in the cupboard should your pup get into mischief while you're out!
Not content with providing your pooch with everything they might need on their holiday, they also provide them (and you!) with some yummy welcome treats to settle you in. The on site free range hens also provide you with a few complimentary eggs, and if you're lucky like us, you might even end up with a double yolker - these were very much appreciated by our little monkey who was also holidaying with us as you can see!
The coach house itself is beautifully presented. Rustic tiles throughout, with fresh, clean (and sometimes dog themed!) decor. You enter through a sizeable porch - ideal for drying off the dogs after a wet walk. Immediately inside is the very adequately size and well equipped kitchen, through to a cosy living area with attached conservatory, double bedroom and stylish well sized bathroom - everything you require for a self catering break in comfort. There is a TV in both the living area and bedroom (incase you want to watch different channels!) and a washer dryer is installed in the kitchen should the welsh weather catch you off guard!
If mother nature is kind during your visit, providing you with the glorious sunshine we've had of late, then theres even a lovely outdoor area for you to enjoy alfresco dining and a fire pit to sit around to roast marshmallows in the evening.
The Coach house does come with NEIGH-bours though... The gorgeous Nelly and Piper. A super friendly young horse and her little pony buddy who are happy to say hi to the dogs and people alike.
If you're into nature and wildlife, the Brecon Beacons provides you with some of the very best of British. The area surrounding the coach house has stunning scenery, incredible places to walk your pooches and just up the road from Brynderwen is a red kite feeding station so you can get up close and personal to one of the UK's most beautiful birds of prey.
If you like your history, the local area is littered with castle and abbey ruins.
I honestly can't recommend Brynderwen Holidays enough - the coach house was cosy, incredibly clean and had a high end feel to it. The hosts were two of the nicest people you could hope to meet, and the area was ideal for the dogs (or just general walking if you are dog-less!) Soon set to expand, they'll also be offering caravan pitches, and potentially another couple of coach house type cabins. If you're thinking of visiting the Brecons I'd recommend booking quickly, i can see these guys booking up super fast, and for a very good reason!
Visit their Facebook page for more pictures of their accommodation and for details of how to book!
